1. Bookings
A booking is confirmed in writing — WhatsApp or email — once the itinerary, the dates and the price are agreed. On most routes we ask for nothing in advance. Depending on the accommodation and the season, some trips need a 50 % deposit by bank transfer through Remitly to hold the rooms, and the same applies to third-party services such as hot-air balloon flights or train tickets. We always say so clearly before you confirm anything.
2. Prices and payment
The price is fixed when the booking is confirmed and covers what is listed under «What’s included» on each tour. The «from» figures are a guide: per person, in a private group, and the final price depends on your dates, how many of you there are and the season. Payment is made at the start of the trip in cash (EUR, USD or MAD), or by transfer beforehand if you prefer.
3. Changing your dates
We would rather move your trip than lose it, so we make this as easy as the accommodation allows. What we can do depends on how far ahead you tell us, because the money is not sitting with us — it is committed to riads, hotels and desert camps on their schedules, not ours.
- More than 60 days before departure — free. Tell us and we move the trip, subject to availability on the new dates. If the new dates fall in a higher season, or the rooms we held are not available and we have to book a higher category, you pay only that difference. There is no fee from us.
- Between 30 and 60 days — depends on what is already locked in. Many riads, boutique hotels and luxury desert camps require full payment 30 to 60 days before arrival. Once we have paid them, that money follows their rules rather than ours. We move everything that can still be moved, and we tell you in writing exactly what cannot and what it costs, before you decide.
- Fewer than 30 days — treated as a cancellation and a new booking under section 4. By that point the rooms and the camp are paid for and are not refundable to us.
The flexible end of this is the comfort tier — family-run riads and standard Berber camps, which rarely ask for anything up front. The rigid end is luxury: boutique riads and luxury camps set their own non-refundable terms. Whichever accommodation your trip uses, we put its exact change and cancellation rule in writing before you confirm, so you know what you are agreeing to rather than discovering it later.
Changes are requested by WhatsApp or email and are only in effect once we have confirmed them back to you in writing.
4. Cancellations
- More than 31 days before departure: your deposit is refunded in full.
- Between 31 and 25 days: 20 % of what you have paid is refunded.
- Fewer than 25 days, or no-show: no refund.
Luxury packages, and any trip using accommodation with its own policy, are not refundable: those rooms are paid in advance and are governed by the hotel, riad or camp’s conditions, which we give you in writing before you confirm.
If the trip cannot run for reasons beyond anyone’s control — extreme weather, road closures — we offer alternative dates or refund any advance in full. The full detail is in the payments and cancellation policy.
5. Itinerary changes
Published itineraries are a guide. The order of visits can shift for weather, road conditions or monument opening hours, always keeping the content of the trip intact. If something changes as we go, we explain it to you beforehand, not afterwards.
6. Your responsibilities
You are responsible for holding a valid passport, any visas that apply, and travel insurance. We strongly recommend a policy that covers desert activities. Please also tell us about allergies, dietary needs or mobility issues when you book — almost everything can be adapted if we know in time.
7. Luggage and personal belongings
The vehicle is private and your things travel with you throughout, but we are not liable for loss of or damage to personal belongings. Desert camp tents have no safe: valuables stay with you.
